Some Russian developers released the first beta version of a customized RT-
N56U firmware today. The firmware is based on the stock 1.0.1.7f
The announcement was posted on the Asus support forum

The most exciting thing is that optware is supported. And of course a lot of
Asus bugs are fixed.
have not tried it yet but would like to.
The router has 128M. It has plenty room to run modules through optware.
However the 8M flash is the bottleneck to host the modules.
