07年大潮的NIW，140早就批了，485还遥遥无期，实在是想换工作，急需绿卡。背景很
弱，只有一篇第一作者，若干篇非第一作，都是一般的杂志，还有些比较小的会议若干
二三作者的文章，几乎可以忽略不计，原PhD老板不牛，也跟牛人攀不到半点关系。当
初NIW搞定都很不易了，申请EB1感觉像是癞蛤蟆想吃天鹅肉，何况现在的工作跟当初的
NIW好像啥关系都没有。
能有人给个建议我这种情况有什么办法快点拿绿卡吗？多谢
去竞争tenure track的faculty对我来说难度不亚于竞选美国总统，水平太烂，不过学
校教书倒是可以考虑，不过光教书好像也没啥EB1的机会吧。

人可多了，等了3个小时!!! The challenge starts from 11:30 in the morning and
cut off time in Santa Clare store today is 5PM (to permit new comer waiting
on the line), even it lasts until 7PM. I asked people around me and we were
all treated by calling MS store first, they always tell you, 30 something
people are currently waiting outside... 怒！！！Never should trust those
people! People around me are actually all from high tech companies, one
Chinese, one Indian guy, we exchanged quite some ideas on different cell
phones, Xbox, WII, desktop computers blahblah, kind of fun and informative
so I decided to wait until the last. :D And I asked people in the store
yesterday only 200+ people, today at least doubled, tomorrow, nobody knows..
. (sorry, I just type English must faster than typing in Chinese).
I worked on mobile device platform myself before，也用过各种 phone, 很喜欢比
较看看感觉。家里有 IPAD, Android PAD, touchpad, nook...
PS, 还是看这个版的帖子好，俺的touchpad 就是看这里的帖子买到的。不看什么省钱
一族的，太婆婆妈妈了，累死个人。//run

3 ways you can try:
a) Try to publish more 1st-authored papers (reviews or book chapters).
b) Get involved for reviewing work
c) Try to get Sr IEEE membership
The only thing is: This is a very time-consuming process. However, no pain
no gain.

在其他条件很难提高的情况下，唯一切实可行的就是婚姻。
Eb类，找一个非大陆（不含西藏）和印度的mm结婚，因为你的NIW已经披了
Fb类，找一个公民mm结婚
这两条都能帮你马上拿到绿卡。
其他方法俺暂时还想不出来，政屁和避难你已经失去机会了。

我现在早就工作了，工作东西和以前的Ph.D专业没有任何关系，工作性质也不是
research，不可能有papler了啊

Nothing is absolute.
Even if you work in a different field, you can still prepare and publish
papers especially reviews, perspectives, or book chapters.
The IOs will not know much about the nature of your research. You can
easily get around with this.

哦，因为今天耽误太多时间了，所以快9点才从公司走，走之前匆匆敲了以上的帖子，
嘻嘻。一般也不会太 mix。
说说我的 challenge 吧，进去，一对一，让你关手机，开手机，连上店里的 wifi, 也
可能会用 data plan? 我的没让我用。然后跟他比谁查到某某城市的气温快。我当然输
了，会给你照个像，你举个牌子说什么什么(比如android phone, iphone)输给
windows phone 啦。:P 剩下就是挑手机，用 DL 登记。开始说只有 Lumia 710 了，后
来什么电话都没了，留下自己电话，说2星期后会打电话给你取新电话。哦，登记了你
的手机型号，取的时候拿一个同样型号的交给他们就行了。没有登记 serial number
那么详细。
感觉 mall 的 data 信号不好，除非是 3G, 打电话还可以。所以这个店里的人才让你连
他们店里的 wifi 了，因为比较老的 smartphone 也不支持 3G。
$10块 gift card 只能在店里用，看了一下，没什么可买的。
samsung Omnia7 已经是 windows OS 了，好像不行。。。
最 popular 的是 HTC Titan, 很多人都 pre order 这一款，所以店员很狡猾的给你看
几种手机款式，让你选，但是唯独把这一款藏在口袋里了，管他要才给我看的。跟我站
一起的那个男生也选这一款，他说支持官网破解。其实我看着屏幕真有点大，觉得
Focus S 更我的 type 一点。可是上次我们同事把 kindle fire 都能放进裤子口袋，可
见这款手机也能放的下男生的口袋啦。:P 新手机用的感觉很好，很快，很smooth。然后屏幕很
cool。
我拿的 iphone 一代去的，比起来当然觉得很慢。旁边两个哥们都是 blackberry, 还
说我用 iphone 去浪费了。我说铃声不响了，耳机孔也没声了。他说，哦，那你就去换
了吧。:D
送的电话是绑定公司的，所以才会考虑破解问题。一般你是什么电话计划就只能选那个公司的电
话了。
如果你能豁出去半天时间，就去试试吧。（我老板这礼拜回国了，哈哈哈哈。）好运哦

你还没理解我的现状，我是完全换了专业，公司是卖产品卖服务，跟research是一点关
系都没有，你的意思说我工作以外研究研究我们公司的东西，看看有没有可能发表点文
章，这个好像不太现实吧。

其实排队的时候很好玩儿的，店里的人也是尽量为人民服务了。也可能是我苦中作乐。
店里的人几次送瓶装水给大家，几次让大家挑店里的小礼物，还有发 raffle ticket,
一个小时抽奖一次，当然奖品也就是店里的鼠标什么的，远远不如大家等的手机，
大家还都挺 high 的。
跟周围的人打好招呼，也可以出去走走，接个电话，方便一下，买点吃的什么的。所以
还好。

您是今天去的？昨天可能人少很多。
今天店10点开门前已经等了不少人了，然后11:30才开始。本来应该12点以后才开始，
已经算提前了。我们还问店员呢，你们觉得什么时间去最好，店里的人说，什么时间去
都差不多要等很久。不过早上的情况我是不太清楚，中午吃饭的时候去的。11:30和
5点都是店里的人说的，我也没验证过。不过5点到7点，两个小时是肯定不够的。有点
害怕，明天不知道人会多成什么样。
弯曲真的就是老中老印多啊。后面一对 couple 是韩国人，还有一帮越南人什么的，
老白？真是凤毛麟角。要么老白都早起去了？

今天头几个去的，我确定10点开始的，我就是头几个到的，晚上回去前溜达看了一下，
后面白人不少
不明白你为什么说11:30开始的。。。
开门之前大概排了20来人吧，估计还不到，回头转回来看的时候人就排到很远去了

昨天下午去的也都等电话的，如果不给了今天不可能还继续还放这么多人
下午一度很快，开了三个台，基本一个台三分钟就够了

我是在网上看说中午以后才开始，所以想早上去了也没用。看来还是应该早去啊？

我中午的时候犹豫去不去呢，电话倒是很容易打通了。一个店小二很热情地跟我说，
我们现在是有这个活动啊，11:30才开始，正在进行中，活动只需要几分钟，并且
排队的人不算很多，一个小时肯定排到了。blahblah。结果到哪儿一看，差点没昏倒！
周围这两个哥们也是被同样的电话内容骗过去的。。。
我想起在另外一个网上看到的，外州的，准备开车上百里去 MS 店，立刻觉得弯曲还是
很幸福的了。^__^

我可是11点多排到2点多
同样是拿喇叭坏了的iphone 1代去换的
小二每5分钟放一个人进去，微软这个奸商很巧妙地利用每人替他们在那里站台做3个小
时的活广告。
我觉得平均5分钟以上放一台手机是他们上头统一了的思想。

对呀，我也是这么想的。
Mall里来来往往的人都在问我们为什么排队，就是在给MS做活广告！
我们那位弟兄说我一进去就认输，直接拿手机不行么？给后面的人节省时间。
我就在他后面啊，他在台子上跟人家解释半天，人家根本不理他。还是要花
同样的时间。我看着笑死了。

绝对不是哦，因为昨天逛了一天的街，路过几次，顺便统计了一下速度，估计你在的时
候应该是速度最慢的时候，后来就巨快，开了三个台子，差不多三分钟结束一个人
