When I check the township website, the millage rate for 2011 real estate
taxes is 5.203 mills. Which means 0.5% of assessed property price is for
property tax.
However, when I check the website for example, zillow.com, I saw a house
assessed price is $172,650, the taxes paid $7881, which is 4.5% of assessed
house price. Why not 0.5%?
This is the house I am talking about.

You didn't count county and school tax.
