想问一下有人去过能分享一下吗？
如果是fixed income或equity derivative(股本衍生工具?)的部门就更好:)
recuriter说fixed income的电面主要是C++的技术的问题。
equity derivative的是Java的笔试。
在这或站内联都可以.

但有一部手机(htc mytouch)不太灵了, 要换机
换了手机wifi hotspot会被禁用要求付月费么?
有经验的筒子们来说说

上海摩根，associate给20w RMB/y左右，vp给30-40w/y左右，奖金基本没有。
现在主要在cut cost, no food, no drinks. OT taxi/meal也很严格了。
C++牛人都走了，剩下的可能会问你template, STL, performance之类的。

是这样的，俺刚换成3* gs s3就马上要钱了。不过一直用的普通计划，没付过
hotspots 的钱。

好像所有公司都不提供 free tethering 了
我付钱买的数据流量, 怎么用都要受限制, 唉, 奸商们哪...

I prefer HK to Shanghai actually.
The headhunter kept telling me that all the big guys in MS moved to SH and
so the promotion there is easier...
I have a feeling that the headhunter doesn't have any position in HK and so
he is pushing for SH positions...

Hmm...was it a Java position? Usually Java developers care more about
pattern design than C++ developers.
Were you interviewed for a position in China? Or the US?
Would be beneficial to everyone if you can share more about your experience

It was several years ago and things may change. They have positions for Java
and C++ both. My interview was for Shanghai office. The problems asked
there seem easier than those tough problems you found on this board.

vp没有global pay，今年promote了一些vp，原因是如果不promote人都要走了。

hc说的都是bull shit, 摩根上海的工资水平比大多数IT公司的都要低，你argue工资低
bonus 0，她跟你谈layoff。big boss倒是拿很多，干的事情就是审批报销之类的。

上海本来今年不招人的，后来走的人+lay的人太多没人干活了，而且contract来面试的
都是连i++都搞不清楚的，所以只能再找点。

unnecessary, 面试和其他it公司差不多，看你运气，如果碰到一个问你很偏的问题的
人，估计你准备也没用。比如template partial specialization, meta programming
之类里面有你从未遇到过的问题。
Modern C++ design里面的细枝末节都搞清楚，估计你就没啥问题了，不过C++最牛的几
个人都走了，所以除非你运气太差。

Hmm...我researched online, 好像去MS上班的大都是负面评价...不知道是MS本身问题
还是这几年经济问题所致...

i got an oral intern offer from morgan stanley shanghai office a month ago.
Contacted by two people, one of them should be an HR. However, I didn't get
a formal letter until now. And no emails since the oral intern offer.
I would say it is like a joke to me. hahaha.

can count your college years and Master/PhD years, ha.

So based on the numbers, it seems like I should try to aim at ED?

number of years alone does not matter. There are people with 10+ years got
laid off. You have to be a good match for them. And seriously there is only
one ED in Shanghai office.

there're many EDs in SH office, 5 year min is NON NEGOTIABLE most of the
time. I have only seen 1 EXCEPTION in 5 years, and this guy is in NY.

Forget about ED, there're many many people who have served the company for
over 15 years and are still VP/Associate. If you are not a talent of office
politics, you won't have that potential.

Currently in SH, many high tech companies pays better than MS IT.
MS HR will only tell you that your bonus is unlimited, but will NOT say in
most cases that it will be near zero.
