You sure? I used iPad charger to charge iPhone, and I still get 0.5A, not 1A. Used Samsung 2A charger and iPhone cable on iPhone, still 0.5A. iPad cable? 0.5A. Used iPhone charger and Samsung 2A cable on S4, 2A. Used touchpad charger and Samsung 2A cable on touchpad, 2A. I have micro-usb cables that can carries 2A, 0.5A or even just 0.1A. So my conclusion is it is the charger voltage, cable and your device that matters, not the current that marked on charger. For safety reasons, obviously, you do not want use, say, 5V/1A charger with 2A cable and 2A device since you overload charger and it can break, but I do not see aey issue with 5V/2A charger on 2A cable and 1A device. The load is controlled by the device and cable.

Yes, I have micron-USB that carries maximum 2A, 0.5A and 0.1A. Same charger, same device, just different cable.
