认真想一下。
买电话时付了一次税（特别是按 list price 算）。
然后，ATT and Verizon 每个月的 monthly bill 还要收税.
实际一部份的 monthly bill is for your phone.
所以那个电话是付了两次税。
两年前帮朋友在 Costco upgrade phone, 好像没有按 list price 收税。
不知现在如何 ？
据说 Walmart 也没有按 list price 收税，
最近在Walmart 买过电话的朋友能否证实一下。
买电话时付了一次税（特别是按 list price 算）。

It all depends on retailers, and you actually don't know if the retailer
send all tax that you paid to the state/city because I experienced
difference two year ago between Costco and BestBuy in CA.

unless the retailer accept cash only. otherwise, the retailer has to submit
sale tax to state.

不仅如此，月费的税还很高，在不少州都已经超过20%。相当于手机要交比正常消费税

Post-paid monthly bill has sales tax and some regulation fees.
All those added together usually is around 15-20%, which is pretty much the
corp discount that you get from your company.
That's why these days more and more people go with prepaid.
It has no sales tax, no regulation fee, and no 2 year commitment.
Plus some discount(3-10%) from refill card seller, such as callingmart.com.

只有ca和ma是这样吧，其他州只付折扣价的税

上prepaid 1年50刀。现在还有免费的。省下的钱干什么都好，比送给四大强多了。呵
呵。三年就是一辆车。
