亲爱的 大哥大姐 兄弟姐妹
问个简历的问题，就是一般Phd没有读完，中间拿了master，然后quit了phd就去上班了
，这样情况，简历应该怎么写好啊，
1，直接写自己只读了master，不提任何Phd相关的事情？
例如
M.S. in computer science June 2012
2, 写自己曾经是Ph.D. Candidate，然后拿了个master？
例如
Ph.D. Candidate in computer science till June 2012
M.S. in computer science June 2011
谢谢大家，现在正在从新写简历，不晓得这样的情况应该怎么写比较好？板上大神出没

不知道写phd drop out 一般是plus 还是 minus了？
别人问着又要解释

不知道写了phd drop out 是加分 还是减分了
所以各种愁苦中

怎么会没OPT，如果之前没读过master，没用master申过OPT，就可以以master学位申
OPT啊
如果是我，就不写了，费事解释，就当读了master呗

写candidate就是欺诈啊。candidate就是那种过了毕考，只剩下毕业论文和几个学分的
人。你一写candidate，别人就会问你大概什么时候拿到学位。

汗。。。。。。 candidate是Qualifying Exam考过的
ABD是只剩下 最后论文的
。。。。。。。。。。

当然是只写master啊，然后附上你phd期间做过的研究项目
你quit了，本来就和phd没关系了

In the EDUCATION section,
"Master's degree in computer science (June 2011)"
In the EXPERIENCE section, e.g.,
"Research/Teaching Assistant & PhD Student (August 2007 - June 2012)"
IMHO, you should not hide your PhD experience,
nor mess around with your MS degree award date.
Because both of them are clearly stated in your transcript,
and there is no room to hide at all.
The recruiter or hiring manager WILL know you are a PhD dropout,
so why not frankly state it in your resume (in a positive way)
and save you hassle of wasting time explaining it
in your interview for the first time?

I would list anything directly related to my MS degree
in the EDUCATION section, e.g., GPA, MS thesis title, courses, etc.,
and put detailed research experience in the EXPERIENCE section.
I would not give the recruiter a false impression that
I was hiding in my resume--either intentionally or involuntary--
the fact that I had been pursuing your PhD degree.
Instead, I would prepare a nice and positive story
for why I chose to drop out of the PhD program.

S/he got his/her MS degree a few years ago
and did not apply for OPT in 2 (or 3?) months at that time,
so s/he has no OPT unless s/he finishes another MS degree.

I would put my PhD experience in the EXPERIENCE section.
The EDUCATION section is meant to state the degrees
that you were already awarded in the past.
If you use the future tense (not recommended), e.g., expected
graduation date, make sure you can fulfill your promise.
