有个犹他州的生物公司，一直在搞有关自闭症的基因测试。也不知道是否有效。下面是
新闻：
Developmental disorders affect about 15 percent of children, and Lineagen
already offers a customized chromosomal microarray test, called FirstStepDx
Plus, as a first-line diagnostic test for their clinical evaluation.
According to the firm, the test has a clinical detection rate of about 30
percent. Microarray-based testing is recommended by the American College of
Medical Genetics and Genomics.
The new test, called NextStepDx Plus, promises to increase the detection
rate to up to 50 percent by scanning for disease-relevant single-nucleotide
variants that the array test does not cover.

我觉得是一个有前途的方向。不过感觉现在还不成熟，还有很多研究工作要做。

朋友家有自闭的孩子。小时候好可爱的。后来就 . . . 哎。

Their board looks less senile than Therano's board. But I wouldn't hold my
breath for the magic pill. Right now, research in ASD is still in its
discovery phase. Maybe they can find out something public funded research
couldn't.

我认识的家庭中也有这样的例子。
那个孩子小时候也挺聪明可爱的，只是偶尔有一些自闭症的边缘行为。当时那个孩子已
经拿了广谱自闭症的诊断，但他妈妈觉得孩子只是内向和性格问题，对early
intervention比较排斥，后来甚至停了early intervention。之后孩子的状况每况愈下
。他妈妈几次想把他送到正常学校，孩子都很快惹出事端，被学校劝退或开除。孩子只
好留在特殊学校。现在再看他，自闭的行为已经很明显了。
美国十几年前降低了自闭的诊断标准，导致自闭/高功自闭/广谱自闭娃的队伍快速庞大
。我以前对此还有不太认同，但看了身边这个例子，觉得这样做还是有道理的 - 错
label了不少，但也减少了漏网的，而漏网对孩子的伤害远大于错label的。

是这样。希望能找出病根。如果可以尽早治疗更好。
