另外,看了一些DVD和书之后+google之后,我对epidual的副作用有一些concern,希望到时候可以坚强地不用epidual。。写出来,给自己一个鼓励吧。
Six signs of preliminary labor
1. Contraction around the belly
2. Last two weeks, your weight gets stable
3. Nesting, full of energy, but it will last for just 48 hours
4. Dropped belly, lower belly, breathe easier
5. Increased virginal discharge
6. Frequent bowel movement, like a diarrhea, almost one night before
labor
Early Labor
• Lasts approximately 7 - 8 hours
• Contractions last approximately 30 - 45 seconds
• 5 - 20 minutes between contractions
• Cervix dilates 0 – 3 cm
What to do:
• Sleep if possible
• Walk
• Squat
• Bath (if water has not broken) or Shower
• Eat: Bagel, toast, steak, pizza, McDonald’s, Swiss Chalet
• Drink lots of water, pop, juice, Slushies, etc.
• Read
• Listen to music
• Watch TV
Breathing:
• Take a deep cleansing breath at the beginning and end of each
contraction
• 10 – 11 breaths per minute
Positions:
• Against a wall
• Squatting
• Lean on counter
• On hands and knees
• Lean on DH
Active Labor
• Lasts 3 – 5 hours
• Contractions last approximately 60 seconds
• 2 – 4 minutes between contractions
• Cervix dilates 3 – 7 cm
What to do:
• Walk
• Squat
• Drink lots of water and fluids, popsicles, jello
• Relax
• Try to pee every ½ hour
Breathing:
• Take a deep cleansing breath at the beginning and end of each
contraction
• 12 – 13 breaths per minute
Positions:
• Against a wall
• Squatting
• Lean on counter
• On hands and knees
• Lean on birthing bed
• Birthing Stool
• Ball
Transition
• Lasts ½ - 1 ½ hours
• Contractions last approximately 70 - 90 seconds
• 30 seconds – 1 ½ minutes between contractions
• Contractions have multiple peaks
• Cervix dilates 7 - 10 cm
What to do:
• Walk
• Squat
• Drink lots of water and fluids
• Relax
• Try to pee every ½ hour
Breathing:
• Take a deep cleansing breath at the beginning and end of each
contraction
• HEE HEE HEE HAW
• Pyramid Breathing (DH chooses how many HEEs)
• 12 – 13 breaths per minute
Positions:
• Against a wall
• Squatting
• Lean on counter
• On hands and knees
• Lean on Darcy
• Lean on birthing bed
• Birthing Stool
• Ball
Pushing
• Lasts ½ - 2 hours
• Contractions last approximately 60 seconds
• 3 - 5 minutes between contractions
• Cervix dilates to 10 cm
Breathing:
1. Take two deep cleansing breath at the beginning of contraction
2. Take one deep cleansing breath and say TWIT
3. Close mouth and put chin to chest and then push air down to where baby
is coming out
4. Partners count to 10 seconds
5. Exhale and repeat from step 2
6. Should do this 3 – 4 times in one contraction
After Virginal Delivery
Belly—Maybe take 6-9 months to get to the pre-pregnant position. Depends on
your age
Breast---hard and large
Sitting down really hurts---virginal delivery moms would like to sit on
sides.
Hemorrhoid may be a problem. Need six weeks to go away.
9-13 pounds will be done after the delivery day.
Breast feeding will make you lose more pounds.
