Such kind of pix, good is good at its history significance.
It depicted a theme of the epoch, in other words, Shi2 Dai4
Zhu3 Xuan2 Lv4 -- as we usually say in socialist China, similar
ideas.
As to the composition, tilted horizon is no doubt a failure;
but the using of lines of the road does express a feeling of
distance, strongly. the long long road extends into an endless
horizon, so quiet, so lonely.
The composition is classic -- lines merging to show the perspective --
and perfectly expressed
