i was having lunch w/ my pal adam, and we talked about make
some CD cover for our band (he is my 5 year school mate and
2 year band mate). so i say let's go take some pics since
i've been so lazy lately and since you guys brought this up.
i used a 20 years old rocoh xr-7, 50mm fixed lens, a black
backdrop, a foto strobe, no meter reading, i estimate it
myself. no tripod. TMY, printed on ilford FB matt 8x10
and mounted on 13x15, i did about 70 of them, picked out 20+,
we spent about two hours, on

since you specifically mentioned the brand of the guitar, it must
be very professional instrument and you wanna show it by giving
some details. for example, show the name of the brand. hehe.
seriously talking about #3, I feel you wanna show the power of the
band somehow. especially for hard rock bands, you always see their
tatoos and muscles on rollingstone pictures. however, this picture
is kind of 'weak' if you look at the hand of the guy. his hand does
not hold the neck tightly. It is the cro

i see what you saying...
music is my passion, i can put away my camera for 5 years, but i
can't leave my music for more than a day. sometimes i guess i'm
too much over it. i didn't need to mention the guitar, but we're
so proud of it.
i can see your points, and i actually have some other pics just
like you want them -- clear guitar, playing in action, and all
that. but those are the ad in a magazine for guitars. i'm taking
pics of Adam, a friend of mine, who happens to play guitar; but

before i go to bed w/ my drunk head, let me tell you
what i learned today. we had our final portfolio displayed
today, and some of my classmates from ID section just blew
me away. the pics i took, it was nothing compared to these
works. we always argue what is a good photography should
achieve. i think it depends...professional photographers will
never consider "popular photography" a photography magazine,
because it's for general public. and you probably have never
looked at magazine like "doub
