YR = "year of announcement"
DPI = "dots per inch"
A/D = "bit depth of analog-digital converter"
OD = "maximal dynamic (optical density) range"
INTF = "interface"
ICE, ROC等边缘参数就不列了。上世纪80年代的LS-3500用的是halogen lamp，
从LS-10开始都改用LED了，参数列表如下，按公布年份和技术更新排序——
LS-10: YR=1992, DPI=2700, A/D=?, OD=?, INTF=?.
LS-1000: YR=1996, DPI=2700, A/D=12-bit, OD=?, INTF=SCSI.
LS-20 E: YR=1996, DPI=2700, A/D=10-bit, OD=?, INTF=SCSI.
LS-30 (III) E: YR=1998, DPI=2700, A/D=10-bit, OD=3.0, INTF=SCSI.
LS-2000: YR=1998,

The company said it recorded a $287 million after-tax restructuring charge
in the quarter. It also booked a $212 million charge to account for a larger
number of customers redeeming the rewards they earn while using its cards.
too many 吊丝 are redeeming the rewards
AmEx also took a $95 million charge for cardmember reimbursements for
transactions going back several years.
800支票应该属于这 $95 million

搞错顺序了吧，应该是前面亏得太多所以不得不裁员吧。。。。。以后活动只会越来越
少或者越来越小。。。。

总体是beat the expectation, 股票涨了，看来 deal是会源源不断的继往开来。
Excluding the items, the company estimates fourth-quarter adjusted net
income at $1.2 billion, or $1.09 per share.
Consolidated total revenue net of interest expense rose 5 percent to $8.1
billion in the quarter.
Analysts on average expected the company to earn $1.06 per share, excluding
items, on revenue of $8.12 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Shares of the company rose 1 percent to $61.45 in trading after the bell.
They closed at $60.79 on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday.

你们这些人，看贴都不看仔细
lay off的那些人，基本上都是Amex旅游预订，机票预订的那个部门
在全部订房、订票网络化的今天，谁要是还留这个部门，
就是故意给自己加负担
就WSN/WSNV们搞的那一点deal，
在美D国昂贵的人工成本
以及CXO们奢侈的开销和天价bonus面前，
根本P都不算
还真把自己当一回事了呢：）
