macro economic factors?

need come up with some to build a predictive model, but don't have many in
my mind... now what I can think of are unemployment rate, prime rate, home
owner pct, consumer confidence index, gas price, maybe also dow index...
what else there are easy to get and reliable?

precious metal price

usually use which foreign currency?
are these integrated price index or I have to decide the metal to use?
this sounds great. any website to get official data for free?

i think there must be some index there. but don't know the name.
worst case, you can use copper, which is a very strong indicator of
industrial activity.
this sounds great. any website to get it for free?
free? no idea....

now I am at the very beginning to come up as many candidates as I can. this
will be followed by multiple steps to eliminate most of them

比如关心制造业，就找铜价、钢价
关心贸易，找汇率
