If you purchased a Seagate brand hard disc drive between March 22, 2001 and
September 26, 2007, a proposed class action settlement may affect you. The
Seagate Hard Disk Drive Class Action Lawsuit Settlement alleges that Seagate
overstated the size of their hard drives by 7%. You can receive a cash
payment of 5% of the drive's purchase price under the terms of the
settlement.
I guess WD/Samsung/Hitachi will have to deal with this 7% loss class action
as well.
