Job Description:
R&D Engineers develop software systems and techniques for creating visual
effects, animation, and games. This position emphasizes high-performance and
scalable software architectures for computer graphics applications.
•Designs and develops new systems for production of high-end digital
content
•Collaborates with tool developers and artists to create state-of-the-
art capabilities
•Upgrades and maintains existing production systems
•Advises and assists junior engineers with maintenance and bug fixing
of existing software and/or systems.
•Communicates with end-users to determine technical requirements and
disseminate information regarding project status.
•Expected to participate in discussions surrounding future
applications and/or systems regarding their appropriateness of solution.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline, advanced
degree preferred.
•2-4 years of experience in the computer graphics field.
•In-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in 3d graphics tools
and techniques.
•Experience with concurrent software construction techniques: shared-
memory multi-threading, MPI, SIMD processing.
•Experience with scene descriptions either in content creation systems
such as Maya, Houdini, Softimage etc., or in games.
•Experience with modern videogame or virtual world architectures
preferred
•Excellence in problem solving and balancing quick turnaround with
long-term quality.
•Must be detail-oriented and organized, possess strong communication
skills, and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner.
