Position Summary
Organize and execute the purchase process ensuring compliance with regional
and local policies and contracts. Explore and capture internal demand for
capital and expense procurement activities. Responsible for the ordering of
goods and services from creation of shopping carts through the issuance of
purchase orders. Supports project based procurement initiatives following a
standardized sourcing process.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
· Maintain good relationship with vendors and internal customers and solve
day-to-day problems.
· Define specifications for required low value goods/services in close
cooperation with internal customer.
·Ask for competitive bids for existing goods/services and analyze them
based on price quotations, quality, delivery terms and specifications.
·Execute the purchasing process in accordance with the Procurement Policy.
·Follow up of the purchasing process (receipt of order confirmations, check
of delivery date, actual receipt/execution) and provide feedback to the
internal customer.
·Work closely with shipping and receiving department to ensure correct and
timely resolution of material and service receipts.
·Research billing disputes with the accounting & accounts payable
department in a timely manner.
·Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.
Qualifications (include knowledge, skills, abilities, and related work
experience)
· Demonstrated analytical ability and strong written/verbal communication
skills
· Good understanding of purchasing practices and procedures
· Must be able to work independently with little supervision; must also
possess good judgment, knowing when to escalate issues
Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate
business issues in a clear and simple way
· Must have a team playing attitude and manner to work
·Ability to establish priorities and follow through on objectives
·Result-oriented, problem solving, decision and execution focused
Functional/Technical Requirements (include education, certifications, and
training)
·Associate's degree or equivalent
·1-2 years' experience in a dynamic high-tech purchasing environment
·Knowledge of ERP systems mandatory; experience with SAP preferred
·Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and
other IT applications – e-purchasing experience would be advantageous
·Negotiation and Communication; Contract Administration; Analysis; Vendor
Selection and Management; Supplier Relationship Management; Purchase
Decision-making and Accountability; Financial and Business Accountability;
Training Delivery; Internal Customer Service Orientations; Reporting;
