1.Marketplace: Millions of Sellers from countries around the world (and
growing) list their products for sale on the Amazon.com Marketplace. Sellers
are a critical part of Amazon's ecosystem to deliver on our vision of
offering the earth's largest selection and lowest prices. These Sellers
offer millions of unique products, providing a broad and diverse inventory
of products from Books, Electronics, Apparel to Consumables and beyond. Our
systems use technology appropriate to our needs, including Hadoop, Machine
learning, highly scaled Java services, AWS technologies, Ajax rich UI's, and
more.
2.MYHABIT: MYHABIT is a new flash sale site focusing on high end apparel and
life style goods. It was launched by Amazon in May 2011. Our mission is to
build systems, workflows, and software services that help Amazon MYHABIT
business teams manage events on www.myhabit.com. These systems mine and
process data for every event that runs on the site. Our challenges include
designing and coding algorithms that are better suited for flash events (
time bound sales v/s perpetually running sales), continuously improving the
efficiency of event management workflows and seamlessly integrating critical
business functions to provide a world class experience to our customers.
These systems need to scale to manage millions of items spread across
thousands of events in 2012. This team is responsible for systems that
directly impact a multi-million dollar business.
3.AIV: The Amazon Instant Video team delivers high-quality instant video to
many Amazon customers through subscriptions as well as a-la-carte purchases.
Amazon Instant Video works on an ever increasing number of devices, from
computers through TVs, set top boxes and beyond. Our mission is to have the
widest selection of movies and TV shows available on the Internet with the
broadest device support. The Amazon Instant Video team networks with
studios, schmoozes with stars (sometimes!) and delivers high-quality video
to millions of customers. We handle large-scale video processing and
delivery, enable cutting-edge integration with consumer electronics devices
like the Kindle Fire and ship highly scalable customer-facing products and
services. Every day we face the challenges of a fast paced market and
expanding technology set, paving the way to ubiquitous availability of
content and pushing the envelope of streaming video quality. As a core
member of the rapidly growing Instant Video team, you will spend your time
as a hands-on engineer and a technical leader. You will play a key role in
building software products and features from the ground. Your work will
allow you to utilize a melting pot of technologies, programming languages
and systems. Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software
development with the freedom andencouragement to explore your own ideas and
the reward of seeing your contributions benefit millions of Amazon.com
customers worldwide. Join us and change the way customers watch movies and
TV shows instantly.
4.PSD: Have you ever tried to help your parents or friends find the right
camera or laptop? Sometimes frustrating, but always gratifying when you
succeed. The purpose of the Product & Service Discovery team is to help
customers find the product and services that work best for them – without
needing a live human being to walk them through the process. PSD is a tech
group within Amazon dedicated to providing customers a dynamic, yet
comprehensive, experience for discovering and purchasing a broad selection
of products and services across categories like Laptops, Tablets, Fitness
equipment, Video Games, MP3 players, Cameras and more. We own all of our
backend services and front-end experiences globally, and utilize Amazon’s
customer data to help customers shop. We are a fast growing technology team
in a fast growing business and we build great technology that focuses on
improving our customer experience.
5.FBA: Are you ready to make a BIG difference? Join Fulfillment By Amazon (
FBA). Our development teams create the user interfaces and large distributed
systems that enable sellers worldwide to run their businesses with Amazon’
s world-class fulfillment systems. Sellers all around the world are selling
their products on Amazon. FBA simplifies this process and help sellers grow
their business. Instead of having to do everything by themselves, sellers
send inventory directly to Amazon where it is stored and managed in our
secure facilities. When orders are received, Amazon will professionally pick
, pack and ship the product directly to their customers. In just the last
quarter of 2011, Fulfillment by Amazon shipped tens of millions of items on
behalf of sellers. When sellers use FBA, their items become eligible for
Amazon Prime, for Super Saver Shipping, and for Amazon returns processing
and customer service. FBA is self-service and comes with APIs as well as an
easy-to-use inventory management console as part of Amazon Seller Central.
As mentioned by Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO of Amazon.com, in his annual
letter to shareholders in 2008 and again this year, FBA is one of the long-
term opportunities for the company to improve the lives of sellers and
buyers. We need your help to grow the business by building highly available
and scalable systems that provide clean interfaces between sellers,
customers and Amazon’s fulfillment center and supply chain software. You
will be exposed to both technology and business. You will manage and
manipulate Big Data. You will learn about every part Amazon’s systems from
our catalog, ordering, and fulfillment. Learn more about our business at http://fba.amazon.com. Become a part of our fun, innovative team and make history!
