the orders with different address were betrayed by the orders with same address? eg. one order with different address had similar address or name or mac or ip.... with another order which had similar address with another order. Then all those orders are linked with each other
apple could use some technical variables to cluster orders. name, shipping address,billing address,cc,ip, mac and computer hash. Each variable could be given a weight. A level of similarity could be assgined for each test to cut the tree. A higher level may refer to higher similarity. For example level 5 could mean that there has to be 5 similar variables to identify orders as from same customer. So if the inventory is low or apple want to tightly control the supply, a lower level could be assigned.
of course, the selection of weight for each variable and the similarity level could be more complicated than I described here.
