They formed some offshore companies. All the money made belongs to these
companies. Company did not pay any tax at their location.
Then company claimed to pay the dividend to Romney(shareholders), so he only needs to pay 15% max tax on dividend.
It really makes me sick. Even it's legal.

大致就是这款地80年代前半段是工业仓库，11年时候检测有砷超标，12年分析感觉跟周
围地块砷差不多水平，所以不用修复。
第一次在美国买房子，没什么经验。想请问是不是一般新房的土地上或多或少都有这样
的问题？据说砷是用来冶金之类的，会不会跟湾区旧金山以前的淘金相关？这种情况下
这个房子还能入么？

The companies are doing stock trading, basically speculating in the stock
market. It is pretty much like the wall street banks. I think the sick part
is that, the tax code is so complicated for a normal person. Only the rich
can high tax lawyers to tell them how to find the loophole. Also, if you do
not have connection in the whitehouse, once you make a small mistake in
taxing, the goverment can catch you and make sure your life is screwed. If
you are an insider, however, you will be just fine.
This is why I do not like Romney. He supports business tax cuts, yet he also
supports goverment control and strong regulations. This means only the rich
and the big companies can get the benefits from the tax cut. He supports
tax cut, but he never talks about real spending cut and never talks about
stop printing money. This guy changes his position all the time and he knows
how to find tax loopholes. If he becomes the president, I am sure he can
say big words while generating some other tax loopholes for the rich.

只是开个offshore company是不能给美国人省税的。你得开hedge fund或是private
equity fund,从公司拿dividend,收入税率才是15%。

why can't he invest offshore? If he didn't hide his offshore income
information, he is following the rule.

he could invest globally, right?
and he follow the rule to get the best out of it.
you want to say, what he should do is when there is a choice of 15% and 30%
he should choose the higher tax bracket as much as possible?
it is dirty and indecent to accuse him if he didn't do anything wrong.
I think it is just a part of the political game from DEM to get people
redeye on him.

It is ok to attack a candidate if he did not treat is ex-wife nicely. It is
ok to attack a candidate if he speaks Chinese. But it is NOT ok to attack a
candidate if he puts most of his money at Cayman Islands to avoid tax...

you mean he shouldn't invest overseas?
or he should always pick higher tax bracket as much as possible?
or he should make less money?

Not saying he is illegal, nor saying anything wrong with him minimizing his
tax. That's why we need some changes to fix the tax loopholes.

How about Newt getting millions of dollars from Fradie Mac? It is not about
illegal or not (if it is illegal, they should have been arrested by now).
But you don't vote for a president just because he did nothing illegal.

There is something morally wrong with investing oversea to maximize tax,
though it's legal. I am not saying that I could not do it if I were a
billionaire, but my consciousness could not allow me to ask for a statue of
virtue if I were a whore.

你说的完全正确的，不过就有一点有问题，Romney是属于make rule的，所以他当然会
让他做的事是rule，是legal的。
其实这些都是endogenous的，像Romney这种人，是挑不到他违法的证据的，因为他参与
制定法律，怎么可能自己违自己制定的法？他就是要制定对他有利的法律。
没钱的傻子就会觉得Romney特好，没什么问题，还会为他辩护；
没钱的聪明人知道这件事，但是没钱，所以也不能参与，只能嫉妒；
聪明的有钱人就会参与Romney和他一样做,也会为他辩护；
聪明的有钱的但是有点社会责任感的能看出Romney的这些问题，可是Romney这种做也是
legal的，所以也不能拿Romney怎么样。
就像congress insider trading是不违法的，如果你insider trading是违法的。人
congress member随便insider trading，你能拿他们怎么办？

He is supposed to fix US economics problem. This appears to be conflict of
interest if he is elected.
Don't forget all the lobby money spent to make a rule that benefits 0.1% of
the people at the expense of working American.
They want to cut entitlement(including social security), Folks are paying 14
% every year into the system.
