I responded to a for sale posted on this forum and insisted on paying by
Paypal. That person was pissed after a few rounds of messaging. Anyway, I
did some quick Google search and he was right, Paypal by gift is not
entirely risk free (to seller). Anyway he called me and after listening to
the answering machine, found out that I am his friend...He ended up making $
30 less of the agreed price. Orz...

I think the chance that the person saw the ads on this forum and that person
is a scam is pretty low though. Probably bad idea if through CL but here
maybe okay. Maybe you can talk on the phone to get a sense?
