Canon has not disclosed the exact methods it uses to reduce resolution for sRAW (small RAW) images and Medium or Small in-camera JPEGs, but each of these recording formats involves downsampling from the original full- resolution raw image data. In tests I’ve performed at various EOS 50D image quality settings, I have come to the conclusion that there is no significant change in noise at pixel level caused by downsampling alone. 观音的sRAW有12.5*3的独立像素呢,Red 12.5MP, Blue 12.5MP, Green 12.5MP。 倒是D810,RAW 36MP,其中Red 9MP, Blue 9MP, Green 18MP。 D700,RAW 12MP,其中Red 3MP, Blue 3MP, Green 6MP。 不过还是希望明年X3专利到期后,Canon SONY都转向X3 CMOS。X3才是王道啊。

Theses are NOT RGGB ( Red,Green,Green,Blue) data like in RAW. sraw and similar are encoded in luminance, chrominace (YUV) data, like classic jpeg before compression. some color information is lost” raw每个像素直接存储RGB颜色。sraw和mraw使用YUV encoding去掉部分颜色信息来节省 空间。类似于video 4:2:2压缩,不损失亮度信息(四个像素相加),但是down sampling UV data(丢掉部分颜色信息,因为人眼的空间分辨率靠亮度,而非颜色决定 ),达到压缩效果。 sraw和mraw不损失亮度信噪比。但是损失颜色分辨率,并且引入artifact。 sraw和mraw效果还是不如用raw解马赛克,再缩图。两个方法信噪比差不多,但是后者 无颜色上的artifact。 所以不在乎文件占存储卡容量时(或者连拍数量),sraw和mraw几乎没用。特别是mraw ,尽管文件大小减小1/4,也不会提高连拍速度。
