Title: Technology Roadmap for Smart Grid; A Case Study on Iran Power

ABSTRACT:
The Power Smart Grid (PSG) integrates power grid, Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) with the aim of achieving more reliable and
safe power transmission and distribution to the customers. To access this
vision, it is necessary to develop the careful technology road map. This
article presents PSG technology road map, including the utilized methods and
processes. To do this, technology mapping is used to identify technologies
and identified key technologies was assessed with capability and
attractiveness criteria. Then, capability & attractiveness assessment matrix
was employed to develop technology strategy and prioritize the technologies
. According the strategies, technology road map was drawn for 25 years. The
results of the implementation are consumer participation, the use of
renewable energy, decrease carbon dioxide emissions, costs and production of
peak load time.
