Title : MSP Chemical Engineering Assistant Tech.
Location : Valhalla, NY
Duration : 6 Months
Job Description
· Materials Development - responsible for evaluating and
recommending materials, coatings, functional additives, and materials
screening and testing food and non-food contact materials.
· Job function will require familiarity with physical/mechanical
property testing, durability, and aesthetics.
· Chemical susceptibility testing - evaluate staining, swelling,
wetting and product compatibility and interaction.
· Regulatory and Agency support, report writing, communications to
team, quality specifications, and failure analysis.
· Support validation and scale up of new polymer manufacturing
process.
Required Job Skills & Years of Experience for Each:
· Education – BS/MS/PhD Chemical Eng./Polymer Science/Polymer Eng
· Materials screening, evaluation and recommendation for new or
existing applications.
· Physical properties/durability/fracture properties/aesthetics,
characterization of elastomer or plastic components.
· Evacuation of surface coatings for polymeric parts and metal
passivation.
· Familiar with regulatory and equipment agency requirements.
· Chemical Testing – wettability, staining, swelling, part failure
analysis.
· Good organizational skills – sample tracking, data base
management, report writing, good observational skills, methodical, logical
thinking
· People Skills – easy to get along with, good verbal/written
communication skills, self- driven, take ownership of responsibilities,
promotable with leadership qualities
Preferred Skills:
· Spectroscopy (FTIR), microscopy, familiar with UL/NSF agency
requirements
Total Work Experience:
· 0 to 4 years
Physical Requirements:
· Able to travel as needed.
