我觉得古狗只是抓住了潮流，实际上是压根就没啥技术含量的活。google没啥核心技术，或者说不可替代的技术。如果明天微软关门，整个计算机行业将会奔溃，而要是google关门，影响要小得多，bing之类的马上可以顶上，至于对国内影响更可以忽略不计。

最近接了一個政府contract，Senior J2EE developer。本人資歷應該算是中等偏上，
工作十年，編程能力可以，工作態度認證，但絕非牛人 or architect。前同事老闆評
價都不錯，這個合同就是從前的老闆幫忙找到的。
但是來了四個星期，感覺非常不好。分配到的一個任務是找到一個production system
的過量memory usage and performance problem，以便讓產品可以handle巨大的文件
（it used to handle under 100MB, now needs to handle more than 1GB file)，
和支持大量的用戶 (used to be 10 users per day, now to support up to 5000
users per day)。這個讓我感覺到困難重重，一方面對現有系統不熟悉，另外一方面
自己也沒太做過這樣的項目，以前的系統都有architect負責這種問題。關鍵是時間很
緊促，還有一個月就要進test environment。老人都跳槽了或者休假了，也沒人可問
。還有其他一堆tickets，那些不難，但也要時間去make them work。
和老闆溝通，但得到的理解和幫助不大。She suggested me to consult with our
architect team, but I have not received much useful information from the
other team, mainly because every one thinks this is a hard-to-solve issue
and rarely wants to commit their time. 而且老闆說了，將來production 出了問
題，是我的責任。
現在老闆的意思是，我應該多加班，嘗試不同的方法，把這個問題解決，可是我沒有
信心在這麼短的時間搞定它。甚至能不能搞定它。
以前從來沒有遇到過這種情況，現在都想quit了。請大家指點。

现在N16里面已经看到我的Brother 2140打印机。问题是无论是直接连上的电脑，还是
无线的电脑，
都没法 add printer 这个，根本看不见。
通过TCP/IP强行安装，结果根本打印不了？
请大牛指点，谢谢！

Custom firmware printing how-to for Windows XP
Installing printing for N16 custom firmwares.
1. Click Start, select Settings, click Printers.
2. Click Add printer.
3. Wizard Window should appear - press Next
4. Select Local printer and remove check mark at "Automatically detect ...",
press Next
5. Select "Create a new port option" and "Standard TCP/IP port" in the drop
down list, press Next
6. New wizard window will appear, press Next
7. Type your N16 address in the IP address box, press Next
8. Select Custom option on the next screen, and press Settings
9. New "Configure standard ..." window will appear, and you will need to
check the RAW option, if not already checked and change port number -
specify 9101 for LPT printer or 9100 for USB one. Once completed press OK.
Once this window is closed press Next in the Wizard window.
10. Add Standard TCP/IP Printer port finished, press Finish
11. Once you've completed port configuration Add Printer should appear and
you will need to continue with regular printer setup procedure.

这老板完全不懂啊，这种得找大牛architect整个重做，找个senior engineer，几个月
就fix,不是搞笑么？跳吧,让it自己去收拾残局去。
政府的contract,好多开始做的一团浆糊，让后面人顶雷，管理的人不懂技术，一团烂
帐。你也别太给自己压力了，你老板给你个mission impossible,你要是很珍惜这个工
作，就每天加班加点，让她看见。最后出不来，她知道你尽力了，也有办法跟上面交代
。这个shitty project,大家都做不出来，大家都知道，你做不出来，不是什么大事，
态度，姿态，更重要。你要是觉得这工作很鸡肋，没什么意思，就赶紧找下家，也不用
浪费时间了。

推荐个配置吧。一般搞这个一台4核，一个比较强的gpu，内存大一些，用vm配几个节点
比较合适？详细讲解下，

同感啊我现在的也是一直在踢皮球。我是QA，但是一出问题， Dev will always
ask QA to investigate and find out why there is exception in the code. I am
speechless, If I have the access to look at sourcecode and debug the
exception, then I should get your pay too. The other thing is developer
said exception is fine as long as we are still getting in the data back.
speechless again.
The environment is constantly changing with bad check-ins. there is not
check-in policy nor there is any unit test done by developers. When issue
is found, every developer start to kick the ball to other team court.

我觉得这个文章挺有参考的，像你目前的情况，既没有权利也没有关系找人帮你，而且
就算有人愿意帮，估计也做不出来。你能做的就是设定几个最直接最容易实现的goal,
加班加点做出来，给你的头汇报的时候说，due to the complexity of the project
and the short time span, this is what I achieved in the past two months,
blah blah. 这样最难得你虽然没做，但是也做了能做的，她也好像上面交代。这种烂
项目，别人都放弃了，做不出是正常。

虚拟机没必要。又不是测分布式算法。

凡是装机需要点技巧的环境，都应该放到vm上节省时间

1:find a best solution for you and the product
exp: support 500MB, 100 user etc
2:tell your boss and management team this is what you are working on and
that's it. if they need more memory, more users, you need more resource
3: drag more and more ppl from other teams into this project, make this as
huge as possible
4: make powerpoint after powerpoint, saying future system under your design
can handle tens of thousands of users and support 100+GB files. But right
now yourself can only finish a little, you need more resource, if anyone
reject you, that's not your fault

ml的生产环境肯定是要分布式的吧

我看过esxi关于vdga和vgpu的宣传但是没试过
我这边做cuda的都没上虚拟器要么就是短期ec2跑一下

这没固定答案都要看你预算和需求自己试出来才行
最开始用云做测试确认好了再买机器也可以
我这边有个人就是一直用云项目快结束的时候再买的四路泰坦...
