Exactly. When they grow up, they need to have their social group, and it is the reality that they will stay in the "ABC" group and they need to be proud of their dual language and dual culture.

they are just trying to make you feel better. People usually wish to do a lot of things, they only do things they think important. 不要把大家都当傻子好不好,你那么多ABC friends都不学中文,你想想能说明什么?

有了第1和第2条不就解决问题了。 important would 进入大学和走入社会后,族群观念会更加明显。我有个在加州白人区长大的亲戚就是在 进入大学以后才 脱离了从前更单纯的中小学环境。他很感谢他妈以前教了他中文,否则会觉得会更迷惑 。

们家小孩可能都会很 进入公司以后,小部 学生的水平无法和 Very wrong about American middle/high school. I am sure you have no clue about what is going on in high school. Many classes are way more advanced than in China. Knowing how to solve hard textbook problems does not necessarily mean understand the subject well.

You surely have no more than one clues about what is going on in a typical American high school, and even more so about a typical high school in China.
