Elie Wiesel的《Night》，写纳粹集中营的，只有不到200页，
非常好。Amazon上800多个读者给了四星半的分数。
感兴趣的话还可以看他的《The Night Trilogy》。

马丁。伊登是我曾经比较喜欢的。不厚，不难，文笔很细腻，但不煽情。:)

I find it interesting that you like "the hours", and at the same time want to
avoid Virginia Woolf. I think Michael Cunningham is HUGELY influenced by

aren't they?
