Although many older posts have pointed this out, people here are still
confused about the measurement of the flats in Hong Kong. Newer flats in
Hong Kong, although claimed by the developers to have 70%-75% utilization
rate, are much smallers than apartments in the U.S. with the same size. I
have repeatedly pointed out, a so called 508sf's two bedrooms flts has
approximately 21-24 sm livable space. In fact, only middle class people can
afford to live in such an apartment (cost HK$12,000/m).
