我表弟明年高中毕业，要到波士顿读本科。因为以前在开车出过事，所以很担心在
美国开车的风险。
如果不小心碾死个把普通人，要多少钱能摆平。
如果是有一点背景的呢。

If you are rich, buy more insurance
1. you must purchase the car insurance. The insurance will cover the medical
cost first. Depending how much you pay, it ranges from 100k or more.
2. If you purchased an umbrella policy, it will cover on top of the car
insurance. If your car insurance is 300k, then the umbrella policy kicks in
after 300k. You can easily find $500-$800/per year policy to cover up to 2M.
Therefore, the insurance will fight for you first, since that is their money
. This will make sure that you will not be blackmailed by the injured person.
If you are poor, it does not matter. If you lost the case, declare the
bankruptcy. As long it is an accident, not a murder or DUI, you should be
fine. Otherwise, you need to go to jail.
