According to the federal law, u can't get ur SSN. but u can
get another ITIN#, with which u can get your driver license and
open your own bank account. Just go to the international office
at your spouse's univeristy and told them you need a driver
license, then they will apply the ITIN for you.
The process is similar with applying SSN.
You can even have your own credit card with the ITIN number.
