I had the same terrible experience even here in US, San Francisco. My parents
bought NW round trip tickets in Beijing when they came here. From Beijing to
SF, direct, But the other trip is not direct, they need to go to Japan and
then back to Beijing. At that time, the lady in the agency told my parents the
tickets can be changed after they arrived in US. But when I called NW, they
said I could only change time, not route. So my parents had to go back via
Japan. This is one thing terrible. We we
