Window 2000 won't allow me to format primary drive C:".
going to DOS, and it said "Format not supported on drive C:".
PC got virus, I need a clean C; before I regenerate the Window.

use a windows install CD to do that

you can't boot the computer from C and then format C. You have to boot from
other drive: floppy, or CD, or Memory Stick.

I can boot from C: or restore CD or DOS from A:, will not format C:
Tried reinstall from restore CD,
select reformat HDD -- C: drive did not get reformated, installation
successful.

how did you tell that the C: was not reformatted after installation?

FYI, HDD is not blank and all my old file and program is still there.
