press F1 in Word, search for "temp file". here is some help
topic.
Specify a location for automatically recovered files
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the File
Locations tab.
In the File types box, click AutoRecover files.
Click Modify.
If you want to store automatically recovered files in a
different folder, locate and open the folder.
Note If you use Microsoft Word on a computer running
Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98, automatically recovered
files are by default stored
