替朋友问：买了旧房，找了一个没有liscense的人contractor来修, 他雇了几个人，不
知到房主该不该为那些工人买人生保险？或者需要sign什么样的agreement to wave

legally, if you are the employer, you need to buy your employee "workers
compensation" insurance.
if your contractor is an individual, he is your employee; if he is
incorporated, his corporation should cover him.
I believe the contractor's helper is his employee. But in case of accident,
they could always sue you as well (in addition to his employer)
