Is Scottrade website down again now?
Scottrade is very bad, both in service, fees and accounts functions.
Strongly advise people not use Scottrade anymore, especially new account.
Scottrade is really bad, pretending to have some advantage. But if you think
and compare widely, it does not.
建议大家不要再用 Scottrade!

Until now, my expired sold covered-call is still not executed. No
information available. Just sent an email to me saying that they have the
right to execute it, but not necessarily do it. I called them, no one takes
the phone. Just a mess.
Either they execute it or not execute it. But they just try to delay forever
to their advantage. 强烈建议大家不要再用 Scottrade!

weekend.

The similar issues have happened at least 5 times this year. Like last time
fat-finger error panick. It is just a mess.

Agree, its option trade sucks. I can only buy ask and sell bid prices.
I am switching to a better one, just don't know which one is best for option
trading...

Many times at critical times, Scottrade is always down saying maintainance.
They just try to take advantage of its customers, like us. Very suspicious
act.

Option expiration day is Saturday. Now, it is Sunday evening; they still say
they keep the right to execute it or not. What a joke!
Either they execute it or not execute it. But they just try to delay forever
to their advantage. 强烈建议大家不要再用 Scottrade!

Last time, during fat-finger error panic, I bought with a market order, but
then after 52 minutes. This order is executed, at a much higher price (55
cents higher than what I saw at the time ). During those 52 minutes, no
information whatever available to that order. You cannot cancel it, you don'
t know whether it is executed or not. Scottrade just delayed it forever to
their advantage.
I called them later. They said they will investigate, because I have the
daily operation log file in my accou

Today Scottrade said they need at least 9 hours to do maintainance. And you
are welcome to send their email, but they will take more than 24 hours to
respond because it is the weekend.
9 hours to do maintainance today?!? Why not 9 days or 9 weeks or 9 months
to do maintainance? What a joke!

好像今天晚上12：00 还是明早1：00AM， scottrade website will be back. 耐心
点。
不过，他们那些坏东东是要曝曝光。曝曝光, 或许 scottrade 能改进一些。

Scottrade 确实有很多问题。新手没经过这些问题，老手，高手又不愿意谈这些问题。
The best thing you can do now is either close it and find a new broker, or
withdraw large portion of your money out from Scottrade. And tell Scottrade
why you do in this way. Then, maybe, just maybe, Scottrade can have some
improvement. But never hold your expection too high.
When it is bad, it is bad. You cannot do anything about it.
When it is good, it is good. You don't need to do anything about it, either.
Good luck with your account.

.m. CDT today. Now, it is passed its supposed comeback time. What a joke?

Eventually, I can log in. But it is a mess. I don't understand how they do
the calculation. Much lower than what I should have in my account. No
history record in account or sending in email to confirm it.

主要是老是有人用那个ref code为自己换免费trade,所以老是有青蛙给骗进去。

用market order的话，
1）不要有150股，550股之类的奇数。最好200-400股一次比较好。150股可能很慢。

Here are what I know:
IB: trade everything, short everything, fee per shares, login is slow
(Active trading and option trading)
Fidelity: market orders are always bad
(IRA accounts)
Schwab: fills are very good, fee: a bit high, UI a bit simple
Trusted place to put a lot of money there.
(Investment accounts)
Etrade: Very good UI. sometimes they take off the balances after midnight.
Be afraid to leave a lot of money there.
(Kids accounts)
I have accounts on all of these brokerages.

It looks like your account is a cash account, such as IRA account.
A cash account is not a margin account, every time you have sold something,
it will take a few days to settle. You are allowed to use these unsettled
fund to purchase new positions, as long as you will not sell these new
position before the settlement date.
But if you sell them before the settlement date, you have violated some
security trading rule, and the broker is obligated to take some action
preventing you from doing the sa

My account is margin account.
The scottrade responded to my asking today confirming that all my money from
sold covered-calls would be availabe to use tomorrow (Tuesday).
But I have determined to switch to another broker, at least withdraw
majority of my money to another broker. Scottrade is really bad.
Again, 强烈建议大家不要再用 Scottrade!

I have more information about how bad Scottrade is. 大家为了3个 referal code
, 就放弃原则，不值！
