I don't see any future of Groupon's business model. The key is the
competition from the sellers but not the combination of the buyers.
Groupon deal is a mistake for google.

Isn't price determined by both supply and demand? Demand side power comes
from collective bargaining, very much like wholesale.

yeah, that's the same as wholesale. Look at Walmart or Costco.
Tell me why you need Groupon if the price is the same at Costco.

Groupon prices can be lower than traditional wholesaler as it offers buyers
the collective bargaining power without the overhead of having to run a
store and maintaining stock. It's a smart way to profit from social
networking and has the potential to transform the way we shop.

Combining with google shopping and social networks, the way people are doing

实体店的运营成本固然重要
但是团购的不确定性（数量、时间、人员etc)会导致物流成本的上升，最终价格很可能
比沃尔玛还高。

一个business存在就自然有他的价值，也许是你我不能看到的。Groupon在coupon
business是老大，如果这个business成功了，google 就发了。

I used groupon alot.
One high end eye-glass conpon sold for 50 while it's value is 200. One meal
in brazil restaurant cost 55/person, and I only need to pay 25. The product
from groupon is cheaper relatively but the brand they sell is highend.
I don't know if it worth 6B. But it's model is a very effective business
model for next 10 years. Pls Do some research before saying sth.

卖$6B，现在一年的REV $400M P/S=15
现有多少active e-mail subscribers (增长潜力不知)
per 10/30/2009 Groupon hits 1M subscribers
profit margin 应该至少25%+ (比照GOOG)
符合GOOG的local化，增加利润点
但买得好像确实贵了点
