There was the Nokia AT&T Apps contest that was rolled out in September;
"North America contest, presented by Nokia and AT&T. We’re challenging
developers to create new applications and games for the Nokia N8 and future
Nokia devices for consumers in the U.S. and Canada. With $10 million in cash
, devices, and marketing prizes up for grabs, now is the time for you to
take advantage of Ovi Store’s global reach which gives you access to the
world’s largest community of app-purchasing mobile consumers, currently
downloading 2.5 million times per day."
This contest was for developers to create apps for the N8 with QT. The
deadline is January 28 to enter the contest but when the winners will be
announced is not mentioned. There has to be a reason AT&T was co-sponsor of
the contest...

Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Nokia Oyj, the world’s biggest maker of mobile
phones, may have delivered as many as 4 million of its N8 smartphones this
quarter, Helsinki-based equity research company Inderes Oy said on its
website today.
Inderes cited guidance given by chip makers, N8 search volumes on Internet
search engines, additional recruitment at Nokia’s Finnish factory in Salo
and media attention to the phone.
