eur (FI:NOK1V 6.01, -0.03, -0.41%) was downgraded to reduce from neutral on
Friday at Nomura, which said consensus earnings per share estimates of 8%
and 16% are too high for 2011/12, respectively. The investment bank said
according to its analysis, 40% of Nokia's 2010 smartphone revenue came from
high-end devices, which appear "very vulnerable through 2011." Its high-end
market share also fell 14 percentage points in 2010, a trend that seems
likely to begin in the mid-range market where Nokia has a roughly 50% share.
Nokia's low-end smartphone position could provide support, but little value
, Nomura anaysts said. The analysts said they see better value with Asian
handset makers such as HTC Corp., LG Electronics Corp., Samsung Electronics
Corp. /quotes/comstock/11i!ssnlf (SSNLF 448.00, -382.00, -46.02%) and Zte
Corp .
