Clive Fund LLP, the world’s largest commodity hedge fund with $5.1 billion
as of May 1, lost 8.9 percent last week, according to two people
with direct knowledge of the matter.
Chris Levett’s Clive Fund lost more than $400 million last
week as oil slumped, the Financial Times reported, citing a May
6 letter sent to investors that it had seen. An e-mail from
Bloomberg News seeking comment wasn’t immediately returned and a
telephone call to the London-based company outside office hours
was not answered.
