Oct 04, 2011 (News corner via COMTEX News Network) -- According to a report
in the New York Times, Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) is currently being courted by
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) as potential suitors
for a bid on all or parts of the company.
Several private equity firms and media companies have contacted Yahoo and
are holding meetings to determine what the most effective strategy would be.
Several media or Internet companies, including Google (NASDAQ:GOOG),
Facebook, Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Alibaba have also expressed interest in
the company.
Yahoo, News Corp and Microsoft have yet to comment on the matter.
Shares of Yahoo are trading up 4.35% to $14.12 on the news.
Yahoo! is currently below its 200-day moving average (MA) of $15.61 and
should find support at its 50-day MA of $13.48. In the last five trading
sessions, the 50-day MA has remained constant while the 200-day MA has slid
0.3%.
