The sector peaked, short-term, on June 21, 2014 by the close of market.

At that time, the forecast was for OIL to peak at 26.22
After the opening bell OIL traded as high as 25.96, which turned out to be
the peak, in hindsight. Error margin: 0.26

So it is no surprise that XLE peaked the very next day after OIL peaked.
