What's the reason that some big guys sold shares right
before ex-div date ? Do they try to get DRIP shares at
lower price or what(basically get more shares as dividend) ?
The strange thing, today is the ex-div date, why it's going up ?
Does that mean PWE purchase shares from the open market
for the DRIP shares ? This is something that I do not understand.
or do they try to shake out weak hands to scare them that
the big drop would happen after ex-div date ?

It is weird but it happened before. The DRIP is to issue more stock rather
than buy back. Today's closing can in fact influence the DRIP price, but I
doubt that is the reason.
