U.S. stock-index futures dropped after Greek voters rejected a bailout plan,
raising the risk of an exit from the euro currency union.
E-mini futures on the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 1.6 percent to 2,036
.50 as of 8:01 a.m. in Sydney. Contracts on the Dow Jones Industrial Average
retreated 1.6 percent. Markets reopen on Monday in New York after a Friday
holiday.
With 87 percent of votes counted in the Greek referendum on austerity
measures that are required in return for financial aid, “no” was ahead
with 61 percent, data on the Interior Ministry website show.

‘No' Vote
“There is now going to be a period of market uncertainty as we transition
through the what-next phase,” Chris Green, Auckland-based director of
economics and strategy at First NZ Capital Ltd, said by phone. “There’s a

trying to assess what the next political moves will be.”
