I don't think you understand Apple's cash situation.
It has a $200 billion capital return program in place for years now -- Apple
has been returning money back to shareholders in forms of dividends and
share buybacks. Most of its cash (180 billion) is parked overseas. Apple has
to pay 35% tax to US government if it wants to bring the money back into US
(note: Apple can only use domestic cash to pay dividends or do share
buybacks).
Unless the tax law changes, it would be insane (and detrimental to
shareholders)
for Apple to bring back the overseas cash.
After setting money aside necessary for its operations, apple is pretty much
returning all of its domestic cash and on top of that, it is borrowing
money against its cash overseas by issuing bonds. So there is nothing "猥琐"
about what apple is doing with its cash... in fact it is quite generous and
smart. Smart because when you buy back shares, then no longer the need to
pay out dividends for those shares to be retired. Apple borrowing interest
is a bit over 2%, AAPL current dividend yield is around 1.75%... so the
effective interest rate for apple to borrow money to do share buybacks is
around ~0.5% at the worst case, and for the shares bought back at much lower
price, apple is in fact paying negative interest rate (earning money).
BTW, it is silly of you to think of Wall Street as an entity shares the same
interest with AAPL shareholders --- especially those who are holding it for
the long term.

you still don't get it. This is an apple-specific situation: no company has
ever been this profitable and accumulated this much cash this fast. There is
no SOP to follow in terms of how to deal with this big an overseas cash
pile for a US-based company. THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM HERE IS THE US TAX LAW
, GET IT? Immediately losing 35 cents on the dollar just to bring it back
into US does not make any financial sense. The best alternative is to take
advantage of the low interest rate (2%) and instead using the overseas cash
as collateral to borrow if money is needed.
Last quarter, Apple's net profit was $11 billion, but it returned 17 billion
dollars back to shareholders (14 billion in share buybacks, 3 billions in
dividend payments). Apple is already using almost all of its domestic cash
and at the same time borrowing money in order to return value back to
shareholders. I don't think there is more that you can ask from Apple.
Having too much cash on hand is a high-class "problem", apple shareholders
should feel lucky that the management is dealing with it in a methodical and
conservative (i.e. not taking on too much debt at once) manner.

你这个属于无知了。以前CVX什么的创造单季度历史纪录的时候
估计你还没在股票版。
Aapl

"股票版" long enough automatically lends you the nobility of Warren Buffet.
Just a few points for you to consider:
1. you make it sound like a crime for the management to run a successful
business and have made this much profit.
2. Chevron is a US-based company makes most of its profits in the US. When
was the last time Chevron had to worry about $180+ billions stashed overseas
?
3. When Apple is paying 4% dividend, it was making most of its profits in
the US. Today's Apple makes most of its profit overseas, and to distribute
hundreds of billions of dollars is a different process from giving out a few
millions of dollars.
4. You clearly don't understand the tax consequence of repatriating profits
made by a US-based company outside of US.
5. Guess what Google, Microsoft or GE do with their profits made outside of
US? They remain outside of the US. Their cash piles are not as big as Apple'
s .... not because these companies were doing something about their overseas
cash... it's simply because they could not make as much.
Just tell us what your solution is for Apple's overseas cash pile, besides
what Apple's already doing and waiting for tax reform or one-time tax
holiday? To think yourself knows better than Tim Cook and co. who actually
run a $650+ billion market cap company is... should I say... foolish?
