Jeff deGraaf: “This entire 150-point rally has been one of the weaker
rallies in my 25-year career,”

The rally over the last three weeks has pushed the S&P 500 (SPY +0.2%)
through its 50-day moving average, but volume's been light and not enough
individual stocks have been lifted to make a believer of Jeff deGraaf of
Renaissance Macro Research.
“This entire 150-point rally has been one of the weaker rallies in my 25-
year career,” says deGraaf, the top-rated technician in Institutional
Investor's annual survey for the last 11 years. The market's long-term trend
, he says, remains bearish.
Yesterday's 2.4% melt-up is a case in point, he says. While those stocks
rising vs. those falling was a solid 4.7:1, the ratio of their trading was "
astoundingly lighter" at 3.6:1. Those stocks hitting 20-day highs stood at
35% vs. the 55% level which would suggest a lasting bull market.
