Chartpattern.com Interview notes with
Super Follower Chris
These are some of the basic rules and methods Chris H. claims he used to
turn $10k into over $2,400,000.00 since the April 2012 Chartpattern.com
Seminar. While these gains were not verified, we have no reason to doubt
the results after reviewing some of the trades during this interview. These
exceptional results did not come from luck, but rather a very passionate and
rigorous work schedule that includes nightly homework, weekly examinations,
monthly updating and yearly trade reviews.
1. No day-trading or chasing of stocks
2. No impulsive trading. Every trade is a planned buy point.
3. ONLY trades in the direction of the market trend and keeps track of
market conditions, sectors, and economic conditions
4. Uses weekly and daily charts to evaluate all trades and only moves to
lower time frames when filling an order on a breakout.
5. Uses the Chartpattern.com Newsletter to find candidates and get
market condition updates.
6. Looks for the strongest fundamental driven companies with 200k shares
or more volume daily. Scans once per month for the list of candidates.
7. Looks for growing fund ownership and top fund owners
8. While fundamentals are considered for stock selection, all entries
and exits are technical in nature, as Dan teaches in the seminar and on
Chartpattern.com
9. All buys are planned entries from homework that trigger out of a
solid base on above average volume.
10.4% Stop Loss on entry and allows the trade to sit near his cost for up to
3 weeks before considering to cut it.
11.Enters via Dan’s Golden Rules - 50% on breakout from the base, 30% add
on at 2% above the breakout and then the final 20% is added on the first
pullback after the breakout.
12.If shaken out of a base breakout, Chris is willing to double up on size
on a 2nd attempt to leave the base as the first set of traders have been
thrown off the trail.
13.Seeks to reach the 20% Golden Rules area and then looks to hold the
strongest acting names longer based on the daily and weekly charts.
14.Will only hold through earnings if 10% or higher cushion on the position.
15.Trades concentrated positions of just 5 stocks.
16.Uses Cash Management to use larger % of capital in early stages of the
market trend and as the market move becomes extended, expands to 80% cash
with 5 stocks using only 20% of the account value.
17.Sells using lessons from Dan Zanger’s seminar to scale out.
18.All sell signals are planned in the after-hours and executed the next day.
19.Ends every year with a 3-day full review of every trade to improve
entries, exit and management of trades.
