Occidental Petroleum Corp. said Wednesday it has reached a deal with
activist investor Carl Icahn and will add three new Icahn-designated
directors to its board.
In a statement on Wednesday, officials at the Houston petroleum company (
NYSE: OXY) said Andrew Langham, Nicholas Graziano and Margarita Paláu-Hern
ández will join the board and Spencer Abraham, Eugene Batchelder, Margaret
Foran and Elisse Walter will retire from the board.
Icahn, chairman of Icahn Enterprises (NASDAQ: IEP) has pressured Occidental
officials of late, saying that CEO Vicki Hollub and Board Chairman Gene
Batchelder chose to “bet the company” by paying $55 billion last August to
acquire Anadarko Petroleum Corp., outbidding Chevron Corp.
"Why did they decide to embark on this ill-advised bet that has already
destroyed over $30 billion in stockholder value? These actions are
unconscionable under any measure," Icahn wrote last month.
Icahn owns nearly 10 percent of Occidental shares.
In a Wednesday statement, Icahn said, “We believe Oxy is a good company
with good assets. We are pleased to have reached this settlement and can now
focus on working with (board chairman) Steve Chazen to enhance value for
all Oxy stockholders.”
Occidental also said on Wednesday that it was making big cuts in
expenditures, including reducing 2020 operating and corporate costs by at
least $600 million, "including significant salary reductions for executive
leadership."

我是看好的。就是总有个狗盛的energy trader说原油tmd会朝17走一趟。
所以9块多没买。
我追高了上了一些作为底仓。
10% position。只能安慰自己如果后面超跌就当作长线了。

我数了一下，如果OXY倒了，不靠歪门邪道的话，美国能源公司里面能剩下的不到10个。
除了德州以外其他所有的页岩油田都得关门。
