Federal adjusted gross income for each individual in "state tax" is still
high
as it includes the income from the other state
how to solve it?

If you and your spouse file a joint federal return but you work in (or are
residents of) different states, you might need to file separate state
returns.
Sometimes this is required by state tax law; other times this is the only
way
you can prevent the nonresident spouse's income from being taxed by the
wrong
state.
Note: You need to use TurboTax Desktop software to perform the steps b
