I am thinking to ask Merrill Lynch help me with my finance. Not sure it's a
good idea.
But I am really not an investment expert, nor do I want to spend time to
learn it. But I've heard most institutions can't beat SP500?
Does that mean that I can simply buy SP 500, and forget the finance adviser?
But the market is also very high right now, maybe it's still a good idea to
hold Cash? Buying another house seems too much work to manage (I have
already bought one to live).
Any advice for a lazy guy?

现在在帮妈妈填DS160表格, 上面有一项是上次签证时是否取过十指指纹, 但她怎么也
记不得了.
因为此次签证用中信代签, 刚刚也打过电话问中信银行关于是否要去按指纹的事情, 中
信的人说, 若是已经取过十指指纹, 那么就不必再跑一趟大使馆, 会直接邮寄护照到家
. 而且他们还提到说, 若上次是2007年底以后去签的证, 那么应该是取过十指指纹了.
请问下大家, 是否2008年以后的面签都是取的十指指纹呢? 谢谢啦!

可我也不知道啊
所以我想咨询下广大拥有丰富自杀经验、戒网经验的美女们
戒网是咋回事
最长能戒多久？
戒了还能取消不？
要怎么取消？
是不是超过一定时限，就没法取消了？
还有自杀呢？
自杀是14天的慢性自杀么？
还有，那个mrong死哪儿去了，代办自杀或戒网的生意来了

有人说它是后宫剧的巅峰，我觉得不算太夸张。
情节上有受到一些金枝欲孽的影响，但要丰富得多。

可以自己设时间,我没有戒过太久的,最多的我方了14天
但是应该多久都可以

Hehe, good question?
IMHO, I don't think they are better than Vanguard Index. But the super rich
don't think so, that is why they end up giving their money to Madoff. :-)

I think it is catch-22. If you know enough on investment, then you do not
need a FA; if you know little about investment, probably you should follow
Ol' Warren's advice, put your money in index funds, then you again do not
need a FA.

FA收的A%是在Vanguard/Fidelity等等的fund的build-in expense ratio B%之上的。你
自己买这些fund的话，cost是B%；FA为你买的话，最终cost是A+B%。

多数的FA收费在1-1.5%。一个Fidelity的经理和我说，如果你的投资额没个3、5M，只
有2种人应该考虑使用FA：1）数学极其差、看到数字就头疼的人；2）必须要投资（
401K之类），但完全不希望用任何脑细胞考虑理财的事情的人。
我想老中、而且来这里发帖询问的人，应该都不属于上面2类吧。。。。。

equity（而不是MF）。对于超过1M的，他们还会让持有他们搞的一个NOTE叫ARN。

EQUITY就是股票啊，他们用客户的资金主要不是去买Mutual funds，而是去买具体的几
十只股票。

我还是不太明白， 为什么 投资额有个 3 - 5 M 就能justify 用 FA?
少了就不行？
