I am considering an offer from a liberal art college. If I take the offer I
need to build a new materials chemistry lab with 2-6 undergraduates and 2-4
M.S. level graduates.
I'd like to ask for $200-300 K start-up including instrumentation, 3 year
lab maintenance, and other instrumentation (expensive ones and I have to
use them in another university) usage fees (3 years). Is that reasonable?
What are the general start-up costs for chemistry in a school like this?
