Many places need Word or text format, such as Web. You have to convert it to
text eventually. So why not use Word?

pdf is definitely widely accepted than word
If you wana generate a html from tex, there are also things like latex2html

不一定,你去monster, hotjobs之类的地方看看,大部分都是
word+txt,很少有收pdf的.因为它们没办法从pdf里提关键词.

I made my resume in Latex at the beginning. Then, when I went to the job sites
, I had to convert it into Word. At least 70% sites (including company
websites) ask for word format. It's totally a waste of time to use Latex. I
really regret it.
With Word, you can save it as HTML, plain text, PDF, everything.
